About Bobby Black
Bobby Black is the name behind a simple idea: New Jersey’s Desi crowd deserves a dance night of its own — a real nightclub night, in a real venue, built entirely around the music this crowd grew up on.
As host and promoter, Bobby Black puts the whole night together: the venue, the DJ, and the room. The formula is Bollywood, Punjabi, and Hip-Hop, mixed live all night — the songs from every family party, every college dorm, and every wedding dance floor, turned up to club volume.
The crowd is the point. Bobby Black nights are made for the Rutgers crowd and the wider New Jersey Desi scene — students, young professionals, and anyone who has ever driven an hour into the city because there was no night like this closer to home. Now there is.
The first template was the Semester Bash — Desi Dance Night at Big Shots Restaurant & Lounge in Iselin / Woodbridge, with DJ Nanda. Every night since is built on the same promise: the right room, the right DJ, and a dance floor that stays full until the lights come up.
Want the next night in your town, your venue, or for your crowd? Bobby Black is always open to the right room and the right partnership — reach out below.
The Promise
Real Venues — Proper rooms with proper sound — lounges and clubs across New Jersey, starting in the Iselin / Woodbridge corridor.
Real DJs — DJs who know the Desi dance floor and can move a room from Bollywood to Punjabi to Hip-Hop without losing it.
Your Crowd — 21 and over, dressed up, and there to dance — the community these nights are built for.
